Scott Snyder rules the charts, as always.  He has the top two books this month, and you have to go back to July 2012 to find a top three without a Snyder book.  Would love to see his Vertigo book, The Wake, pick up some steam and head up much high than its 89 ranking.

I may not have cared about Angela’s shift over to the Marvel 616 universe, but someone did.  Guardians of the Galaxy #5 brought the series back to the Top 10 for the first time since April.  Having Neil Gaiman credited as “Consultant” probably didn’t hurt either.  Although, I was under the impression he would be handling some writing duties as well?

The first half of Trinity War ranked much lower than I expected.  Justice League Dark #22 did not appear on the list.  Considering this event has been built up for a year, I would have thought these would be closer to the top.  I wonder what would have been different if Trinity War was published as its own mini-series event, rather that in the core Justice League titles.

Batman Annual #2 was great.  Since the inception of the New 52 in 2011, only two Annuals have made the Top 10 listing.  Those being July’s look at Arkham and 2012’s Night of the Owls tie-in from Scott Snyder, James Tynion IV and Jason Fabok.  It is also worth noting that 2013’s Annual is an impressive debut for up-and-comer Marguerite Bennett.

Marvel’s Superior Spider-Month was fairly successful.  The core titled remained in the Top 10, along with one of the three new books.  Sadly, Superior Foes didn’t get a ranking, despite being the best of the books, hopefully it makes an appearance higher in the August numbers.  Despite double-shipping, both Superior Spider-Man issues have consistently made the Top 10 the past three months.
